Photography &
Commercial Filming
The Worimi LALC encourages sustainable film-making practices and projects that seek genuine collaboration and respects local community engagement, preserves cultural values and is restorative to country.
The Worimi Local Aboriginal Land Council (Worimi LALC) are the Authority for commercial licensed activities being undertaken on the Worimi LALC’s private freehold sand dunes contained within the Stockton Bight and adjoins to the Worimi Conservation Lands NPWS (WCL) – not to be mistaken as the same entity.
Working in close partnership with the WCL; we assess filming enquiries and applications to determine suitability and to support and accommodate production companies, documentary crews, commercial photographers and creative teams that are hopeful of capturing the magic and the magnificence of the largest coastal sand dunes in the southern hemisphere aka the Stockton Sandunes (Worimi Country).
We take great care in ensuring that all activities engage with the land respectfully and appropriately and sit within cultural and environmental regulations.
Our filming licence service provides comprehensive support to help applicants plan and operate responsibly and includes assistance with site selection, asset resources and supply (including not limited to supervision, transport and catering etc), cultural awareness briefings, community engagement guidance and clear protocols that removes any confusion, provides clear access and reduces negative environmental and cultural impacts.
For enquiries, please contact our team by emailing filming@worimi.org.au to discuss potential locations, availability and licence terms. We look forward to receiving your application.
IMPORTANT:
• Non-Aboriginal tour operators are licensed to use WLALC sand dunes for approved sandboarding and 4WD’ing ONLY. This license DOES NOT include commercial filming or marketing/PR activities such as media famils, influencer visits etc.
• WLALC supports promoting the region as a tourism hub as a whole but must retain the right to review opportunities and therefore ALL applications for filming or marketing/PR activities must be put to WLALC in the first instance.
