Our Extended Community

The Worimi Local Aboriginal Land Council proudly extends its reach beyond boundaries and provides knowledge, story, culture and resources across the Port Stephens and further afar, including national and global visitors to the Murrook Culture Centre.

Through education, tourism, hospitality, and cultural engagement, we offer respectful, meaningful ways for all to connect with Worimi Country with a slogan stating, “Experience Murrook, Change Forever”

How We Support
Our Extended Community

  • Promoting Cultural Education
Our Cultural Heritage & Education Unit shares Worimi history, language, and traditions through cultural programs, on-Country workshops and school sessions. The Murrook Culture Centre and it’s Interactive Space immerses visitors in stories, artefacts, and cultural displays.

  • Creating Cultural Tourism Experiences
Sand Dune Adventures offers guided quad bike tours across the Southern Hemisphere’s largest moving coastal dunes. Guests experience both adventure and cultural learning guided by our tour guides.

  • Providing Spaces to Gather and Celebrate
Murrook Conferencing & Events invites gatherings, meetings, and celebrations.  With an onsite café and catering (named Yapay Djalgil) we offer a seasonal menu in a welcoming setting.

  • Protecting Country and Environment
Our Green Team leads conservation efforts, including bush regeneration, habitat restoration, and cultural site care—combining traditional knowledge with modern practices.

  • Advocating for Justice and Equity
We actively promote Aboriginal rights and recognition at all levels. Through partnerships and advocacy, we work toward social justice, equity and inclusion for all Aboriginal people.
